Best Bali travel destinations? Seminyak is a village in Bali, but it’s packed with things to do. There is a reason why it’s considered a tourist hotspot. It’s just a short distance from the airport, and businesses are close by. It’s also a great place to stop for a break on your vacation. The first thing you should do when you get to Seminyak is figure out how to get around. There are plenty of ways to get around, but the most common is by walking. Another option is a taxi, the Bluebird brand is most common and have meters.Uber is Not an option, Grab is available but cannot operate in all areas. We have had stays in all types of accomodation in Seminyak but have some favourites that we would stay at depending on our needs. About 20 kilometers northwest of Kuta, Pura Tanah Lot (“Pura” means temple in Balinese) is one of Bali’s most iconic temples. Its spectacular seaside setting, on a rocky islet surrounded by crashing waves, is a major wow factor. For the Balinese people, it is one of the most sacred of all the island’s sea temples. Every evening, throngs of tourists from Kuta, Legian, and Sanur find their way through a labyrinth of lanes lined by souvenir sellers to watch the sun setting behind the temple. Pura Tanah Lot was built at the beginning of the 16th century and is thought to be inspired by the priest Nirartha, who asked local fishermen to build a temple here after spending the night on the rock outcrop. Although foreigners can’t enter any of the temples in the complex, you can walk across to the main temple at low tide. It’s also fun to wander along the paths, taking photos and soaking up the magnificent setting.
I love Uluwatu for many reasons and it’s one of the great places to visit in Bali, especially if you want epic sunsets.I still haven’t found a sunset that beat the one I experienced at Uluwatu Temple. Uluwatu is located south of Bali island, so you’ll either need to hire a driver, or ride a moped to visit. Balangan is a region of Bali located south west and it’s home to some of the bluest waters on Bali island. Because you will notice, Bali doesn’t really have “pretty” waters or beaches, compared to say the Philippines, or even the Gili Islands and other areas of Indonesia, but Balangan beach is beautiful and it offers great surf.
More than a thousand years old, Pura Besakih is known as the Mother Temple for a reason: It’s the holiest Hindu temple complex in Bali – and the biggest. Set in a spectacular location on the southern slopes of Mount Agung, at an altitude of 1,000 meters, Pura Besakih is actually a series of many different temples, which serve as the spiritual center for the Balinese people. Pura Penataran Agung is the largest. Lush rice paddies and forests ring this temple complex, and many important festivals take place here; you might be lucky enough to see one during your visit. Plan to spend about three hours touring the temples. It’s also a good idea to wear comfortable walking shoes – you’ll need to walk a fair distance and climb many stairs. Insider’s Tip: Locals trying to sell sarongs, incense, guiding services, and various other items bombard visitors at the gates here, but your ticket includes everything that you’ll need during your visit. The best time to visit Pura Besakih is early in the morning before the tourist buses arrive.
Situated about 10 km from Singaraja. The Gitgit waterfalls are also known as Air Tejung Gitgit and they offer a refreshing experience for the visitors. To reach the 40-metre waterfall, visitors will have to traverse along a wooden walkway which leads into a rocky pool. Take a dip in that cool pond before heading over to the nearby Mekalongan waterfall as well. This is a great place to relax and be closer to nature. The water over at the waterfall actually splits into two different streams which also gives the waterfall its another name- Air Terjun Kembar Gitgit or Twin Falls.
